We at V.A.V. Group have expanded our supply with the new, environmentally friendlier Bio-TPE profile material!
TPE or thermoplastic elastomers are a class of copolymers or a physical mix of polymers – usually a plastic and a rubber – which consist of materials with both thermoplastic and elastomeric properties. In the new Bio-TPE, 65% of the fossil raw materials have been replaced with Bio-based oils, making it a more ecological and environmentally friendly option. Like regular TPE, Bio-TPE is a fully recyclable, non-toxic material.
TPE gives a much smoother surface appearance and a faster extrusion process, which is already beneficial. The more ecological Bio-TPE has all the same properties as regular TPE, including excellent chemical resistance, hardness of 50-90 ShA, with a full RAL color scale available.
TPE profiles are used in the construction industry as well as in other industrial applications according to the customer’s required specifications. They come in several different colors, manufactured as per the customer’s requirements. As a material, it is well suited for multi-component seals.
