On January 23rd we celebrated the 20 year anniversary of V.A.V. Group, inviting our clients and partners on a guided factory tour in Ii, and to a festive dinner in Oulu. With visitors far and wide, we toured the expanded factory with two new production lines and introduced our guests to what really makes us innovative, fast, flexible and reliable.

The first thing that caught the attention of our guests was the display stand of EasySwing cattle brushes. Many of the visitors had read about our purchase of the Finnish company FinnEasy, but seeing the products live raised a lot of questions and curious comments. Needless to say, products developed for cattle well-being were enough to bring a smile on everyone’s faces!

FinnEasy cattle brushes gained a lot of fame.
3D printing tools and components
Our trusted 3D printer was working hard even during the factory tour, which gave our honorary guests an insight into the manufacturing process of custom tools for their individual profiles. Tuomas Moilanen, our quality and tooling manager, described the process of crafting new tools with the 3D printer and how long it usually takes to turn blueprints into an extrusion die.
“People were really interested in the metal 3D printer, and being able to see it at work seemed fascinating. Quite many of the guests were familiar with common plastic printers, but seeing the machine turn steel powder into a solid die was definitely something new for everyone”, Tuomas explains.

Assembling complex structures
Right next to the 3D printing facilities is our further processing and assembly section, where we join profiles together, install pressure valves, and attach installation tapes onto the profiles. The display panel on the wall of the processing and assembly line has dozens of different joints, valve installations and special solutions, and more than once we heard the question “You do all of these here too?”.

The new production facility is in full swing
The tour continued to the new part of our factory, where the new production lines have doubled our production capacity for silicone rubber and TPE. Arttu Juntunen, the development engineer of V.A.V. Group was in his element describing the workflow of turning blocks of silicone into familiar-looking profiles: “It’s completely different explaining our workflow to someone than actually showing them where the raw material comes in, how it is treated, and where the ready profiles are made, coiled and packed.”
The vertical extrusion line caught the eye of many visitors, and rightfully so – the newest addition to the production line is able to produce more complex structures at a higher workrate, which makes us even faster and more flexible than ever before.

Seal your success with V.A.V. Group
Over 30 visitors enjoyed the factory tour and the birthday dinner afterwards, and we were happy to see so many of our clients and partners honoring the occasion with their presence. We hope this special event helped our guests better understand how our core values are present in our everyday life in Ii, and how they guide us on our path to seal our customers’ success with our products and services.
